I'm a girl, I'm in my mid twenties. I live in Canada, work full time, and play Rift whenever I get the chance. I absolutely love MMORPG games and have avidly been playing that type of game for about 10 years now. I've graduated from colllege with a useless degree I'll probably never use. I do want to go back to college when I get the chance and when work and expenses allow.
I love reading, writing, drawing, watching movies and playing computer games. I also enjoy spending time on forums, reading comments on various websites, and just random net surfing. I live in an apartment, am owned by a very spoiled black kitty named Kikyo and a small kitten named Sango, and spend my days playing Rift, working, and cleaning. Now that I have the mobile app it's so much easier to talk to my guildies and to get shiny rewards when I can't be at home on Rift.
I swear by the use of coke (the pop not the drug) and drink it way too often I'm sure. I also am a huge fan of tea of any flavor except green. I really enjoy chai and red rose tea most of all.
I tend to always stay up too late and sleep in, since I really like playing on the computer after work and I usually get off work at 11pm.
Cooking is something I am allergic to most days. Stoves and me don't really get along either. But there are the occaisonal days where I will cook myself a meal or make something quick on the stove. Like recently I made blueberry pancakes for myself and invited my sister over for breakfast. It was pretty good actually.
I have 2 younger sisters, one of which plays Rift with me and lives 5 minutes away. We generally hang out and have alot of fun. My other sister plays WoW with me (I've tried getting her into Rift but she was having none of it) and lives in a different province. My mom lives in Minnesota and I have no clue where my dad is at the moment.
I like country music, as well as death metal, hard rock, new age, some pop, and goth music. Actually I usually don't mind listening to any kind of music. The only music I absolutely hate and can't stand is rap. I don't even consider it real music...
I love sci-fi/fantasy type movies and tv shows and that's mostly what I lean toward. I hate comedy and romance/chick flic type movies. There's not even any plot to those, jeez. My favorite tv shows are Buffy, Charmed, Angel, True Blood, Dead Zone, Wire in the Blood, Legend of the Seeker. My favorite movies are Avengers, Lord of the Rings, Mummy trilogy, Indiana Jones, Megamind, Knight and Day, Avatar. My favorite books are the Coldfire Trilogy, Anita Blake series, Wit'ch series (can't remember the actual name and too lazy to check), Wheel of Time, Sword of Truth.
I have a serious desire to attend BlizzCon next year, if only for the chance to finally get to go. I've been wanting to since like forever...well for 6 years now. But I've never really had the time or the money to go until now. I'm saving up and working on a costume to wear at the moment. I might even make posts about my costume's progress here and there. If there was a Rift con I'd definitely go to that too! Or maybe even instead of BlizzCon. Oh well.
The games I play are Rift and WoW, at least at the moment. I play them for the social aspect and the wonder of exploring new places. I also love earning achievements, getting titles, shinies and nice pretty armor. I don't play to be the best of the best, or to be the top raider on the server. I like to play at my own pace and generally don't plan ahead of time what I'm going to do when I log in. I'm an altoholic and will create an alt at the drop of a hat.
It takes little urging to get me to do dungeons, rifts, raids, or any other group activity, although I'm never very good at it. I don't have much patience for elitists, dmg watchers, or beggers. I also can't stand people who feel the urge to rush through things. Especially dungeons! I hate it when the tank has to think he's trying to break some kind of world record by being the fastest group to do the dungeon. Where's the fire? Can't you sit back and enjoy the content? The faster you get to end game the more bored and restless you're going to be, so why not enjoy what you have in front of you. Well that's my way of thinking anyway.
I'd really like to write a Rift guide site at some point, but at the moment it's just not possible. My goal would be to have one single website for any information anyone would need for Rift instead of having to search all over the internet for the answer to that one question you have. I am a firm believer in having all information of the same theme in one easy to access location. But meh, that's a future task. For now, I desire to write these blogs and to have fun doing it! I'm not a professional writer by any means and I've never written a blog before I started these 2 Rift RP blogs, so I hope I can keep up the pace.
I have a few fanfiction stories written, one that is quite long by now. I also have several pages worth of sketches based on my characters in WoW and Rift. One of these days I'll hook up my scanner and get them into my computer. Then I plan to post them here on my website so I can have them saved rather than just as sheets of loose paper sitting beside my desk. Ah so many things!
That's probably something I do often; take on too many projects, or have goals/dreams that are too over the top and unrealistic to fullfill with how things are now in my life. But a blog shouldn't be too hard to maintain. Especially if I only update it every few days or once a week. The hard part will be making sure that my blog is up to date with my character's actions. Because once I get into the roll of questing, I tend to just keep going till I'm too tired and need to sleep.
It's hard to remember that for my little Ren I need to write down everything so that I can record it on here later for her blog. I bought a few notebooks for just that purpose.
So that's me in a nutshell. Not the most vivacious and exciting of lives, but I have fun, I'm happy and I'm content. And that's all that matters. I'm just fine where I am in the world, although I am passively searching for a new job. Now, moving on to more fun parts of the blog.
